Progress Report

Random news: California senate just approved a bill to abolish Day Light Savings time, so, if approved by the Governor, the vote in November could get rid of that nightmare we've all been living in. Which might make me reconsider not wanting children... (kidding.) But, such a change would make this the ideal time to make this trip, since next summer such a drive might involve a time change.

Pertinent news:
Money has been spent! There's no going back now! We have finalized the trip dates and reserved four of our six nights worth of sleeping accommodations, which is impressive since he said "we won't need camping reservations", and she said "yes we will", and he said "fine!" Then 20 hours later he told her she was right because every campsite in the San Francisco area was booked solid through the end of July and we officially had an Air B&B reserved.  That little victory aside, I'm happy to report our trip dates are solidly set, and I got an extra bed out of being right!

So here's the updated emotional roller coaster, remember to keep your hands and arms inside the vehicle.

Trip dates:
22-28 July

Weather:
"It shouldn't matter. It'll be nice." (Ominous foreshadowing?)

Destination:
Seattle, Washington

Brewery count:
San Fran and area - 3 (hopefully)
Oregon - 1 (at least, research dependent)
Seattle - 2ish?

Depressing Realizations:
"Here's one of the problems, Love... If we leave from Emigrant Lake and plan on being in Portland by noon then we are going to miss Deschutes Brewery"

Currently most anticipated plan:
Seeing the Redwoods again, man, I miss those guys. Also, Elysian Brewery in Seattle, Washington.

Current biggest fear:
Attempting to use public transport in San Francisco
Her: "Public transport scares me more than cobras."
Him: "Are cobras a thing you worry about? Because I never knew this."

Playlist status:
No progress.

Current song mood:
"Axel F" by Harold Faltermeyer

Sleeping stops along the way:
Sausalito, California (Air B&B booked)
Emigrant Lake Recreation Area, Oregon (Camping up and back reserved)
San Luis Reservoir, California (Homeward bound)
Random sides of the road where naps seem appropriate

So, I tip my hat to him for making things happen today. Thanks, Love. Now to make some plans for the limited time we have in each stop along the way to make the most out of our vacation.
